Appointing Authority The Ethics Review Board is the appointing authority for the New Orleans Inspector General. [Chapter 2, Article XIII, Section 2-1120 City Code (OIG) 2006]
In 2007, the Ethics Review Board appointed the City’s first Inspector General, Robert Cerasoli. During Mr. Cerasoli’s initial months on the job Loyola University provided the essential resources for the new inspector general to begin establishing his office. Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, Chair of the Ethics Review Board and President of Loyola University New Orleans, made sure Robert Cerasoli had office space, computers, and supplies. The Ethics Review Board assisted Cerasoli in his struggle to acquire office space, computers, and phone services for the Office of Inspector General. The Executive Director for the Ethics Review Board managed the majority of the administrative functions for the OIG such as procurement until the OIG was able to hire administrative staff in the spring of 2009. Although Robert Cerasoli was unable to fulfill his appointed term, he had exceptional success in developing a functional office and the City will forever be indebted to him.
